How Our Commission Process Works

Inquiry

Use the form below to outline your project, please be sure to include images, measurements, colors, and your target budget or deadline. We’ll provide thoughtful feedback to ensure the project’s a great fit.

Concepting Deposit

A non-refundable design deposit begins the creative process — covering concept development, material swatches, and mockups. The amount is credited toward your project when you move forward.

Design Approvals

You’ll review and approve final designs, dimensions, colors, and hardware details. One round of refinements is included to ensure everything feels exactly right before fabrication begins.

Fabrication

Once the 50% fabrication milestone is paid, production starts. You’ll receive progress updates and behind-the-scenes photos from the studio as your piece comes to life.

Delivery

Each artwork is professionally crated, insured, and shipped. Installation support or referral can be arranged as needed, and the final balance is due prior to dispatch.

Commission Pricing Guidance

Minimums:
Custom commissions begin at a studio minimum, with scope guided by the complexity, scale, color palette, and finishing techniques involved.

Typical Ranges:
Functional pieces, sculptural works, lighting, and architectural panels each carry their own baseline pricing and lead times, depending on materials and fabrication methods.

Drivers:
Project specifics such as size, installation constraints, hardware, wiring, structural support, and special annealing or surface finishes can influence both timeline and total cost.

Lead Times

Typical Lead Times

Lead times vary by category and project scale. Architectural or multi-part works often require additional time for design development, approvals, and kiln scheduling.

Variable Factors

Timelines can be influenced by project complexity, material availability, and the studio’s active production calendar. Limited rush capacity may be available for select projects with an associated rush fee.

Policies and FAQ's

Deposits

Design deposits initiate concept development and are non‑refundable; they cover sketches, swatches, and focused refinement so early creative work is properly resourced.

Project Payments are staged at key milestones—approval and fabrication—so investment aligns with tangible progress and delivered work.

Edits & Scope

One refinement round is included during design, ensuring the final concept is cohesive and production‑ready without compromising quality.

Changes requested after approval may affect cost and timing; if needed, a clear revision path will be proposed before moving forward.

Creative Rights

Original designs remain ESQUE's creative property; please don’t circulate concepts to other studios or vendors without written permission.

This protects the integrity of the work and the collaboration, ensuring the final piece is uniquely tailored to your space.

Shipping & Claims

Each piece is professionally crated and shipped insured; please inspect on arrival and photograph any issues immediately so a claim can be initiated.

Report damages promptly and retain all packaging; this allows the carrier’s process to move quickly and replacement options to be assessed.
